*Il musical, debuttato al Teatro Adelphi di Londra il 9 marzo 2010, è il seguito del famosissimo musical di Lloyd Webber The Phantom of the Opera.
*La produzione originale comprende Ramin Karimloo nel ruolo del Fantasma (già ricoperto nel prequel nella stagione 2008-2009) e Sierra Boggess (poi sostituita da Celia Graham) come Christine Daaé. La produzione a Broadway era annunciata per il novembre 2010, poi rinviata nella primavera 2011, ed infine annullata.
*Il musical ha chiuso a Londra il 27 agosto 2011, dopo aver replicato per circa un anno e mezzo

*Il 12 ottobre 2010 Lloyd Webber ha annunciato in una conferenza stampa che una produzione australiana del musical avrebbe debuttato il 1 maggio 2011 a Melbourne.
*La nuova produzione preannunciata del musical, con nuove scenografie e costumi, ha debuttato il 2 maggio al Regent Theatre di Melbourne, ottenendo uno straordinario successo.
