Ben Affleck, all'anagrafe Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt (Berkeley, 15 agosto 1972), è un attore, sceneggiatore e regista statunitense. Divenuto noto nel 1995 con il film Generazione X, ha vinto un Premio Oscar nel 1998 per la miglior sceneggiatura originale insieme all'amico Matt Damon per il film Will Hunting - Genio ribelle,in cui ha un ruolo secondario . È stato protagonista di Armageddon - Giudizio finale, diretto da Michael Bay; lo stesso regista lo dirige nel 2001 in Pearl Harbor, accanto a Kate Beckinsale e Josh Hartnett. Famoso per le sue relazioni sentimentali, nel 1998 e 1999 è stato fidanzato con Gwyneth Paltrow, con la quale era protagonista di Bounce, mentre dal 2002 al 2004 è stato fidanzato con Jennifer Lopez, che aveva affiancato in Amore estremo - Tough Love e Jersey Girl. Nel 2003, durante le riprese di Daredevil ritrova nuovamente nel cast Jennifer Garner, sua futura e attuale moglie, dalla quale avrà due figlie. Nel 2007 ha diretto il fratello Casey nel film Gone Baby Gone, mentre nel 2010 è stato protagonista di The Town, suo secondo film da regista.
